2017 Call for Treasurer Applications


Fellow NCACES members,

The NCACES Executive Committee is soliciting applications for the position of regional Treasurer for the next three years. Below is a list of responsibilities, roles and functions. The Executive Committee is looking to review applications by
October 16, 2017 and confirm the candidate by November 3, 2017. The incoming treasurer would work with our current treasurer, Jennifer Cook to ensure a smooth transition into the incoming year. The official position will begin July 1, 2018. The position would up for renewal in 2020. The treasurer, appointed by the president, also will have a unique opportunity to receive some training/guidance from ACES national treasurer, Dr. Brian Dew. Travel support to the regional conference is included (one registration and one hotel night). Applicants who submit materials prior to the ACES 2017 national conference may be contacted for an informal meeting by one of the members of the NCACES Executive Committee.

TREASURER

Treasurer Position Information
• Serves as an appointed, voting member of the NCACES Governing Council
• Works in conjunction with the National ACES Treasurer
• Writes operating and conference budgets
• Participates in regional business meetings at ACES, NCACES and ACA
• Attends regional Executive Committee and/or Governing Council meetings
• Collaborate with ACES Conference Coordinator and NCACES Executive Committee to develop a regional conference budget
• Collect all invoices for regional expenses, liaise with individuals who require payment, and forward them to ACES Treasurer
• Keeps region’s books (expenditures, income)
• Processes award checks, reimbursements
• Serves on the Budget and Finance Committee
• Creates annual Treasurer’s report to be given at business meetings and posted on NCACES website
• Performs other duties at the will of Governing Council/Executive Committee or President

Treasurer Qualifications
• Highly organized with fine attention to details
• Self-motivated, able to work independently and follow through with commitments
• Able to work collaboratively and collegially
• Interact professionally with constituents and other board members and be highly responsive
• Forward thinking
• Knowledge and comfort with Excel, Word, and basic arithmetic calculations
